DJ Magic M][MER

Hello I'm Anthony Johnson aka DJ MMiMER or "DJ Magic M][MER".
Born and raise in Salt Lake City, UT
Now I have been running a mobile DJ business since 2006 and enjoying every minute of it.
I enjoy just about all kinds of music but really enjoy listening to Reggae and house music. I like EDM and I really am going to try to stick to one but I would rather be open to all kind because I like to explore and experiment with what I like.

Music is the best medicine to relieve stress and let you go where you want to go. Try it and tell me where you put yourself.
I put myself outta space traveling exploring different places where no one had gone. There’s no limit of how you let music guide you and set your mood.

Here’s something I like to share that many find interesting about me, I’m hard of hearing since I was 5 years old and I’ve attended the School for the Deaf and Blind for 10 years. I’ve always wanted to be a DJ back in the day when Break Dancing was so popular and I was one. That’s how I gain my DJ name and used it as part of my mobile DJ business name. Magic Mimer is taken from being on the Drama team for high school that I competed in Pantomime for Regional and State which I choose Magic MiMER over Dr. Popper.

What kept me from going for my dream was my hearing lost of only using my left ear with hearing aid to hear and being almost totally deaf in the right ear, the challenge I faced is being able to hear what cued in the headphone and hear out of the other ear like most Djs. The first year I started Djing I faced the challenge to learn to beat match and read/understand the waveform of songs. The more I play, the more I enjoy Djing dis-pike what my hearing handicap is. Nothing is preventing me from doing what I loved and I may not be the big name DJ because I am DJ Magic M][MER, let me do my magic with Music.

I wouldn't mind doing some opening gigs and I hope to meet more DJs.
